Today's Jobs Report Masks a Huge Employment Problem
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report today shows that the economy added 98,000 new jobs last month, and the unemployment rate is down to 4.5%. But the real number we should be watching is the number of open jobs-unfilled vacancies in the job market-which the BLS will report next week.
